A couple of months ago I decided to organize my master bathroom with Container Store and I love how it turned out! Towards the beginning of summer, I knew I wanted to decrease screen time in our home. Summertime is when most children tend to get sucked into the screen more than any other time of the year! So my husband and I decided that our goal was to limit their time on screens by providing them with a way to be entertained by something else that is just as easily accessible as a screen. My kids love playing and using their imagination with various toys so I decided that making an organized and easily accessible space for their toys would be the perfect way to help crack down on screen time by keeping them entertained. I knew right away that the Container Store would be apart of the first step in our summer project!

That’s when I found these great baskets! They keep the toys organized and they look aesthetically pleasing (aka the perfect combination!) My kids have each basket holding different types of toys: dinosaurs, vehicles, legos, barbies, etc. You can customize your organization by choosing how many towers of baskets you want, four fit perfectly along this wall in our basement. Whether you need two or ten or twelve, they look great and are so functional! I don’t know about you, but over the years we have collected multitudes of toys from Christmas and birthdays and for so long we kept them in a giant bin and the toys ended up all throughout the house. Plus, the kids had to dig through just to find the toy they wanted, making picking up an iPad or switching on the TV the easier choice. Why dig through all of their toys when they could simply plop down on the couch in front of a screen, right!?

With the toys separated in their assigned bin, it is so easy for the kids to go and grab what they want and just let their imagination and creativity fly! They can add or put away toys as they please while still keeping the area clean and organized.

You can organize by toy size, toy type, or even by color! My kids and I decided to do it by the type of toy because they have a lot of toys that can group together into categories. I enjoyed having my kids be apart of the process because it made them excited about having a project that involved them! I try to have at least one project each summer that my kids can feel passionate about and involved in, a project involving their toys ended up being the perfect choice! Our oldest son actually enjoys making sure his siblings put things back into the right bins and is always so proud of himself when he can say “mom it’s all clean!” because he was the leader in making sure clean up happened (I am one proud mama!) These bins are perfect for any blank wall, you can use them to organize almost anything! They would work great for a craft room, a gift wrapping station, additional closet organization, or even snack items; the options are literally endless.

I love that the baskets are easily accessible, we don’t have to worry about opening and closing drawers to access the toys. With this great organizational system the kids can clean up quickly and accurately by tossing the toys into their assigned basket! White was the perfect color for keeping a clean and simple look in our home. We lined them up along with the kids other items such as their toy kitchen, doll house, etc. so that they have their own space to play, with everything they need surrounding them. With the stack-able baskets the kids don’t even need their own designated ‘toy room’, we just lined them up in the family room in the basement, saving space while still making it look clean. What is better than a room that can serve multiple purposes? Justin and I love that we can curl up on the couch and relax while still having the kids in the same room with us playing together! And when company comes over it only takes seconds to clean up and have the room looking organized again.

It’s no secret I LOVE the Container Store and could spend all day there wandering up and down the aisles; we are so grateful for their products that help keep me sane and the house organized! Almost any project in our home involves their versatile products, from bathroom, to pantry, to garage we’ve done so many spaces in our home and will continue to do so!

Screen time in our home has decreased significantly since setting up this new and organized toy system; my kids love being surrounded by their favorite toys and they have interacted and played with each other way more than before. As a mom, there is nothing I love more than seeing my kids get along and use their imaginations together! Hearing my kids fighting over the remote and/or yelling “it’s my turn!” has reduced so much in the Reeves home this summer.

I cannot express enough how much I love Container Store and these amazing stackable baskets! I hope this helps you in your endeavors to get more organized this summer!
